Publsh Wins Exclusive Yas Marina F1 Event Sponsorship Rights

Yas Asset Management has named Publsh Media Group exclusive commercial partner for the Yas Marina Race Weekend 2026 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Tiered packages offer category exclusivity on a waterfront that drew 120,000+ visitors in 2025. Here is what the deal means for F1 sponsors and brands.

Every December, the Formula 1 season comes to a close on Yas Island, and for one long weekend the waterfront beside the circuit turns into one of the most watched addresses in the sporting world. Superyachts line the berths, hospitality decks fill with guests, and the sound of the cars carries across the water. For brands, that combination of speed, money and attention is hard to find anywhere else. Now the commercial keys to that waterfront have been handed to a single agency.

On 12 August 2026, Yas Asset Management appointed Publsh Media Group as the exclusive commercial partner for the Yas Marina Race Weekend 2026, which takes place around the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. According to Entrepreneur Middle East and Gulf News, the agreement gives Publsh sole rights to shape the marina's commercial, media and experiential activity during the race weekend. That means one partner now builds, sells and runs every branded opportunity on the water side of the Grand Prix.

The partnership programme is already open. It is built on tiered packages that offer category exclusivity, high impact media placements and experiential concepts, with only a limited number of opportunities available in selected categories. The numbers behind the pitch are strong: more than 120,000 people visited Yas Marina during the 2025 race weekend. For anyone working in media marketing, content marketing or event sponsorship in the Gulf, this is a deal worth reading closely, because it shows how a venue that sits next to the action can become a commercial platform in its own right.

‍

Inside the Publsh mandate at Yas Marina

The scope of the appointment is broad. Under the agreement, Publsh will develop, market and manage commercial partnerships, branded media assets and experiential activations across Yas Marina throughout the race weekend. In plain terms, any brand that wants to appear on the marina during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will now go through one door.

Campaign Middle East reported that the 2026 Yas Marina Race Weekend runs from 4 to 6 December 2026 at Yas Marina Circuit, the season closing round of the Formula 1 championship. The wider festival around the race begins even earlier. Outlook Traveller reported that the entertainment programme starts on 2 December, with Andrea Bocelli performing at Etihad Arena as part of the Yasalam Classics series, followed by After Race Concerts featuring Zara Larsson and Lewis Capaldi on 3 December and Imagine Dragons on 5 December.

The structure of the offer is what stands out. Rather than selling scattered signage, Publsh is packaging the marina into tiers. Each tier combines visibility, hospitality and experiences, and the headline benefit is category exclusivity. A brand that secures its category will not share the marina with a direct competitor during the weekend. In a sports sponsorship market where premium audiences are fought over by banks, car makers, watch houses, property developers and luxury labels, that promise carries real value.

Kushal Desai, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Publsh Media Group, summed up the appeal in one line: "Yas Marina is where the world's attention converges every December." He added that "This exclusive mandate lets us build something genuinely rare for brands," describing a platform that brings together visibility, luxury hospitality and immersive experience at the closing race of the season.

For Yas Asset Management, the owner side of the deal, the logic is just as clear. Jassim Albastaki, General Manager of Yas Asset Management, said: "Yas Marina offers brands something no other venue can." Gulf News and Campaign Middle East both report that he pointed to the energy, the glamour and the world class audience the marina attracts, and said Publsh would help make sure that opportunity is fully realised.

‍

Who is Publsh Media Group

Publsh is not a household name outside the UAE, but it has been building a busy portfolio. Entrepreneur Middle East describes it as a UAE based experiential marketing agency. Campaign Middle East has called it a full spectrum experiential media firm with expertise in branding, public relations, out of home media, events and influencer campaigns, working with clients such as Emaar, Prada and Omniyat.

The group is led by two co-founders. Sagar Chotrani is Co-Founder and CEO, and Kushal Desai is Co-Founder and Managing Director. Publsh is also the parent company of J1 Beach, the beachfront destination in Dubai, which gives it hands on experience of running a premium venue where hospitality, events and brand partnerships meet.

Its recent deal flow shows a company that likes to sit at the meeting point of media, venues and lifestyle brands. In February 2026, Campaign Middle East reported that the Dubai performance wear brand SQUATWOLF named Publsh as its exclusive PR and media partner for 2026, covering PR, media strategy, outdoor campaigns and brand outreach. In May 2026, Publsh signed an exclusive strategic agreement with Vivenda Group, a European out of home advertising specialist known for premium placements in Rome and Milan. Under that deal, Vivenda represents J1 Beach in Italy and Spain, while Publsh represents the Vivenda portfolio in the UAE.

Sagar Chotrani framed the Yas Marina appointment as the result of that track record. "Deals of this scale come from years of proving we understand how brands actually want to show up in this region," he said, according to Campaign Middle East. In Entrepreneur Middle East he went further: "Yas Marina gives us the canvas to prove it again, at the biggest possible volume."

‍

How Yas Marina became a commercial platform

The idea of selling the marina as its own sponsorship property is relatively new. In June 2025, Campaign Middle East reported that Yas Asset Management had awarded exclusive partnership and media sales rights for the 2025 race weekend to The Luxury Media Group. In that report, The Luxury Media Group founder and CEO Joonas Ruolahti said: "Last year, we successfully commercialised Yas Marina for the first time during Race Weekend." Brands secured in that first edition included Mastercard, Beyond Properties and McLaren, among others.

Publsh was already part of that story. The same Campaign Middle East article noted that The Luxury Media Group would collaborate with Publsh Media Group, with whom it had previously worked on PR and sales. The 2026 appointment therefore marks a step up for Publsh, from collaborator to the sole commercial partner on the marina.

This progression matters for brands. In three editions, Yas Marina has moved from an untested commercial idea to a structured programme with tiers, exclusivity and a dedicated operator. That kind of maturity usually brings better measurement, clearer packages and a more professional sales process, which makes it easier for marketing teams to justify the spend internally.

The venue itself helps. Yas Marina sits directly next to Yas Marina Circuit. According to YachtCharterFleet, the marina has 227 berths and can take visiting motor yachts of up to 175 metres, and it is one of only two Formula 1 venues offering trackside berths for visiting yachts. Entrepreneur Middle East notes that the marina holds a 5 Gold Anchor Platinum accreditation and a Superyacht Ready accreditation from The Yacht Harbour Association, standards that reflect operations, facilities, service delivery, crew experience and environmental responsibility.

During Grand Prix weekend, Entrepreneur Middle East describes the audience on the marina as an international mix of celebrities, yacht owners, hospitality guests and race goers. Gulf News adds that the marina draws high net worth visitors alongside the race crowd. For premium brands, that is the point. This is an audience that rarely sits still long enough for traditional advertising, but one that is relaxed, social and open to experiences on a race weekend.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in numbers

To understand why a waterfront next to a racetrack can be sold in tiers, it helps to look at the event that powers it. The Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is organised by Ethara, and its 2025 edition broke records across the board.

According to Ethara's own figures released in December 2025, race week drew a combined 339,000 fans across all events. Yas Marina Circuit welcomed a record 203,000 attendees, up nearly 6 percent from 192,000 in 2024, while the After Race Concerts drew a record 136,000 fans over four nights, with performances by Benson Boone, Elyanna, Post Malone, Metallica and Katy Perry. The Abu Dhabi Media Office reported that 231,000 of those attendees came from abroad, which is 68 percent of the total and a record for the event. Ethara also won the 2025 Promoter of the Year award at the annual F1 Promoter Awards in London.

The sporting story helped too. The 2025 race was a three way title decider, with Lando Norris of McLaren claiming his first drivers' championship while Max Verstappen won the race and Oscar Piastri completed the trio of contenders. Ethara noted that celebrities in the paddock that weekend included Ana de Armas, Jason Statham, Bill Gates, Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho and Jannik Sinner.

Saif Rashid Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, captured the mood after the event: "This year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be remembered for decades with the F1 title battle unfolding under the floodlights of Yas Marina Circuit."

Set against those totals, the 120,000 plus visitors that Yas Marina recorded during the 2025 race weekend show how central the waterfront has become. It is not a side attraction. For a large share of the race week crowd, it is part of the experience, and that is exactly what Publsh is now selling.

‍

Where F1 sponsors already show up in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has long been a showcase for brands, and the way local and international F1 sponsors use the weekend offers a useful map for anyone considering the new marina packages.

The most visible name is in the title itself. Etihad Airways has been title sponsor of the Abu Dhabi race since 2009, according to SportBusiness, a relationship that has now run for well over a decade. Around it, other brands own clearly defined pieces of the weekend. Ethara's 2025 review lists the Emirates NBD After Race Concerts, the Yasalam festival presented by e&, and FAB Track Walks that gave fans extra access to the circuit on Thursday. Even sustainability became a sponsorship story, with a partnership with Ma-Hawa, which uses air to water technology, producing more than 260,000 litres of water on site.

The pattern is consistent. Successful event sponsorship in Abu Dhabi works when a brand owns a specific moment or space, rather than simply appearing on a list of logos. A bank owns the concerts. A telecom company owns the festival. A local bank owns the track walk. The new Yas Marina programme follows the same logic, offering brands ownership of a category in a defined space with a very specific audience.

There is another lesson here. Many of the most active F1 sponsors in the region are not motorsport companies at all. They are airlines, banks, telecom operators and property developers who use the Grand Prix to reach affluent residents and international visitors in one place. That is why the first commercial edition of the marina attracted names like Mastercard and Beyond Properties alongside McLaren. The audience matters more than the sport itself.

‍

Why category exclusivity matters to brands

Category exclusivity is one of the oldest tools in sports sponsorship, and one of the most valuable. When a brand pays for a premium platform, the last thing it wants is a direct rival standing a few metres away with a bigger screen or a louder party. Exclusivity protects the investment and gives the sponsor a clean story to tell.

On a marina, that protection becomes even more meaningful. The space is compact, the audience moves between yachts, lounges and viewing areas, and every touchpoint is close to the next. A single automotive partner, a single watch brand or a single financial services partner can create a consistent presence across the whole waterfront without fighting for attention. For the guest, the experience feels curated rather than crowded.

The tiered structure also opens the door to different budgets. Not every brand needs to be the headline partner. Some may want a hospitality presence and a few high impact media placements, while others will want to build a full experiential concept on the water. Publsh has made clear that opportunities are limited and spread across select categories, which tends to create urgency in the market. Brands that wait too long may find their category already taken.

For marketing directors, the key question is fit. A category exclusive package works best when the brand's own audience overlaps with the people who actually walk the marina on race weekend: yacht owners, hospitality guests, international visitors and well connected residents. When that overlap is strong, a race weekend activation can do more for brand awareness in four days than a much longer burst of digital advertising or tv advertising spread thinly across general media.

‍

Turning a race weekend into a 360 marketing story

The smartest sponsors treat a physical activation as the start of a campaign, not the whole campaign. A marina presence during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix generates a stream of moments: guests arriving by yacht, celebrities passing through, cars on track visible from the water, concerts lighting up the island at night. Each of those moments can feed a content marketing plan that runs well before and well after the weekend.

This is where media marketing turns a sponsorship into a business result. Short video for social channels, behind the scenes stories, partner interviews and creator content can all be produced on site and distributed through digital advertising to audiences far beyond the marina. Brands with bigger budgets can connect the activation to tv advertising and out of home placements across Abu Dhabi and Dubai, so that the same visual idea appears on screens, on billboards and on the water at the same time. That joined up approach is what agencies mean by 360 marketing.

It also gives the sponsor something to measure. Footfall at the activation, hospitality guests hosted, leads captured, social reach, earned media and search interest can all be tracked. Given that the marina recorded more than 120,000 visitors in 2025 and the wider race week drew 339,000 fans, the potential audience on site is large, but the real multiplier is what happens online.

Publsh's own background points in this direction. An agency that combines PR, out of home media, events and influencer campaigns is well placed to package the marina in a way that serves both the physical audience and the digital one. For brands, the opportunity is to arrive with a clear creative idea and a content marketing plan for how every moment on the water will be turned into digital advertising, social posts and, for larger partners, tv advertising.

‍

What this means for event sponsorship in the UAE

The Yas Marina deal reflects a wider shift in how the UAE monetises its big sporting weekends. Venues and spaces around major events are increasingly being packaged as sponsorship properties of their own, with dedicated operators, clear tiers and exclusive categories. It is a more professional, more commercial approach, and it creates new routes for brands that cannot or do not want to buy into the event itself.

For brands looking at sports sponsorship opportunities in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the message is that premium inventory is being unlocked in new places. A brand that would never become an official Formula 1 partner can still own its category on the marina during the season finale, in front of an audience that is largely international and highly affluent. For local companies, especially in property, finance, hospitality and luxury retail, that is a very direct way to reach decision makers and high spending visitors in one weekend.

There is a timing lesson as well. The Publsh programme opened in August for a race weekend in December. Strong activations need time for creative development, production, permits and partner coordination, and the best categories are usually claimed early. Brands that want to be on the water this December should already be in conversation.

Finally, the deal underlines how much value now sits around the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix rather than only inside the circuit. With record crowds, a growing international audience and a season finale slot that guarantees global attention, Yas Island in December has become one of the most complete brand platforms in the region. The marina is now a fully fledged part of that platform, and Publsh holds the keys.
